What does TORCH do for Assisted Living Facilities?
Business Assistance
TORCH membership provides access to discounted food, medical and office supplies, office equipment, telecommunications and computer hardware. Members can easily save more than the cost of their annual membership. TORCH members receive discounts on best practice policy and procedure manuals. Manuals help meet regulatory requirements and maintain quality of care while enhancing profitability. TORCH maintains a network of experienced owners and experts whose knowledge is available to members through our “Ask the Expert” program. TORCH is developing an inspection hotline that will be available for members to call during unannounced inspections. Regulations frequently change and can be difficult to navigate. This program makes the most accurate information available to members when it’s needed the most.
Filling Beds
TORCH’s online membership profile allows potential residents access to your facility. The site can be searched for homes that allow pets, that are exclusive to males or females, those managed by RNs, and other levels of care. An accreditation process is being developed that allows best in class homes to distinguish themselves from others. Licensure establishes a minimum level of care; TORCH’s accreditation gives a competitive edge by allowing a home to demonstrate a higher standard.
Advocacy
TORCH represents your interests throughout the legislative and regulatory process. We meet with legislators during the year and have regularly scheduled meetings with the Health and Human Services Commission. The goal is simple: Our parent’s and grandparents’ quality of life is enhanced when they can live in a home-like environment with a low staff-to-resident ratio.
Education
TORCH offers numerous educational and networking opportunities designed to promote best practices. Chapters offer monthly forums that will enhance the care of residents through educational forums and peer-to-peer exchange. The annual conference offers both nursing and manager continuing education hours. There are great networking exchange opportunities as well as presentations by state legislative and regulatory officials. TORCH maintains a network of experienced owners and experts whose knowledge is available to members through our “Ask the Expert” program.
Communication
TORCH is the industry’s source for the latest information. Whether you’re looking for the most recent regulatory guidance or legislative updates, you’ll find news important to assisted living providers from one source.
